Akina Mama Memory Care is a friendly and comfortable residential facility that focuses on residents who require substantial personalised care. Establishing two facilities in the communities of Lyttleton and Lyttleton Manor Pretoria and supporting up to 28 Residents. This is a total of 11 Residents in Akina Mama One which is our Selborne Facility in Lyttleton, and a total of 17 Residents in Akina Mama Two which is at our Amkor Facility in Lyttleton Manor.
Not only do we offer relief to Aged residents who require support with the tribulations of daily living, but have an amazing team of Caregivers, offering Specialised assistance to residents with Dementia related illnesses, Alzheimer's sufferers as well as Palliative Care.
Our facilities care for individuals with a range of care needs, from those who require minimal support to those who require 24-hr personal assistance. Care is personally tailored to each individual and is delivered with dignity, trust and patience by a dedicated team.
We currently attend to 40 patients in their own home environment and with that experience, have identified the need for a facility for when homecare becomes too strenuous on the family.
Rooms are spacious and decorated however, patients are welcome to incorporate their favorite bedding, pictures etc. into their own space. Akina Mama Memory Care focuses on a homely family atmosphere, giving patients the opportunity to spend time outdoors, together with an indoor area to spend quality time with family & friends.
Residents have access to lawn areas, while indoors the facilities have a communal lounge area and dining rooms for socializing and relaxing.
The social atmosphere is enhanced by a flexible program of activities which focusses on physical and emotional health, while looking to make the most of community links and personal interests.
Every effort has been made to create an ambience of friendship and care that allows the residents security and comfort.
